Well, that's the interesting thing about making wishes at the crystals here...
I believe my wish was something along the lines of, "I wish I could live in a home that I would find in modern day Japan." And I sacrificed a huge amount of shards to make that wish, so I expected something like a luxury condo!
Instead, we got a traditional machiya. It's beautiful, though. The "modern" part only pertains to everything on the inside, kotatsu included.
At least you got something nice! Though it is odd that the crystal interpreted your words so differently.... maybe it couldn't conceive of anything terribly more "modern" than that.
I do have a question- when it comes to cooking, what is the routine around it? Are there certain times of day or night there shouldn't be any, particular cookware to be especially careful with, meal sharing? Things like that!
You can't possibly be worse than Akechi-kun, so I have no fear!
To be candid, until Kurusu-kun arrived in November, I've cooked every meal myself. I don't mind - in fact, I enjoy it! He's taken over some of that duty, which is a relief... his curry is better than mine too, so everyone benefits.
What I mean to say is that if you don't want to cook, you don't have to. The two of us have it covered. But if you do, you're more than welcome! There are no real rules, everything that's mine is yours.
Ah, it sounds worse than it was... Akechi-kun is used to a celebrity lifestyle. It seems he subsisted entirely on conbini meals back in our true reality. Isn't that sad?
[ On the one hand, Maruki has seen what happened to the pan Akechi used to try to reheat leftover fish and rice in.
On the other hand... he did make miso soup for Maruki that one time. It didn't taste great, but he still successfully made it. ]
Not quite that bad, but not much better, either...
Perhaps I'll start giving him lessons. We've been too preoccupied to approach it before now.
Well, culinary disasters aside, I think that's it for the machiya! But if you ever have other questions, or if there's anything you'd like to add to it, or if anyone bothers you, please tell me. I try to be a good homeowner, considering I'll never be one in Tokyo!
If I can be of any help with those lessons, please let me know! And thank you once again. I don't know where I would be without your, Akechi-san's or Akira-san's hospitality.
I do hope that when you go home, things will be easier! You never know, maybe you will own a home in Tokyo one day. :)

Oh! Do you enjoy cooking, Mifune-san?

I do! I'm not the best, but I won't burn your kitchen down. :)
[Hopefully. She doesn't really enjoy cooking but she knows she should.]
